A pair of 13" hi-hats, Op. 31.3 from master cymbalsmith Manabu Yamamoto. The cymbals are just a bit larger than 13" -- 13.25 actually. The set is a 761 gram top with a larger bell, and an 834 gram bottom with small bell and stiffer profile.
These are honestly some of the best hi-hats I've ever played. Manabu nailed the 1940's sound with these. Wonderful airy chick, great sick sound. If you play the bottom and top cymbals together with sticks (Ala Papa Joe; Max Roach), you get some truly incredible tones from these.
No nicks, dents, cracks, or keyholes.
Part of a set he made for me: A wonderful pair of hats on their own, but designed as a set with my other two listings (Op. 31.1 and Op. 31.2). I've listed them separately but I recommend the whole set.
