For generations, the Bach 42 Stradivarius has been one of the premier large bore tenor trombones throughout the world, renowned for its sound, response, and musical control. The 42BO features an 8-1/2" one-piece hand-hammered yellow brass bell, chrome-plated nickel-silver inner handslide tubes, yellow brass outer handslide tubes, and open wrap F-attachment with a traditional rotor.
This 42BO was purchased new in 2002 and has been a very lightly used one-owner instrument. The instrument has not been played much since 2004 (less than 10 times a year). Recently chem leaned.
Outside of one small ding on the F-side tubing, one dent removed above the stamp (pictured), a couple of tiny dimples on the slide crook, and some mute change scratches on the bell interior, the instrument is completely free of dents, or dings. There is lacquer wear where the left hand holds the horn under the slide cross brace and minor lacquer wear on the outer slide tubes. The finish is 95%, the hand slide is a 10/10, the rotor has been meticulously maintained and is a 10/10.
This is an awesome playing example of the modern 42BO, with nicely balanced response and the classic Bach "core and ring" timbre. Comes with Bach fabric-covered hardshell case and a Bach 5G mouthpiece (pictured)
