Up for sale is a vintage 1930s/1940s "Challenge" softshell guitar case made by Geib, Inc. in Chicago. This is a period-correct case for mid-century Gibson, Martin, or Kay flat-top and archtop guitars.
Condition Details:
- Exterior: Black faux-alligator grain finish. Shows normal scuffs, edge wear, and signs of age, but the structure is solid. The "Geib Inc. Challenge" stamp is clearly visible on the back.
- Interior: Original purple textile lining is intact and in great shape for its age.
- Accessory Pocket: Fully intact, featuring Geib's signature embossed geometric diamond on the pocket door.
- Hardware & Handle: All latches and hinges are present and fully operational. The original handle is secure and usable.
