For sale is my Warmoth Meadowhawk neck, purchased new from Warmoth earlier this year. It fits a standard Strat pocket and was used for only about two hours on my project Stratocaster. I’m just more of a Tele guy, so I’m passing it along for someone else to enjoy.
Quick specs:
- Upgraded “nice grade” birdseye maple neck with rosewood fretboard; Tru-Oil finish on the neck back with a satin feel and a glossier headstock
- 25.5” Scale Length (standard Fender)
- 22 stainless steel jumbo 6100 frets with unique pearloid Meadowhawk inlays
- 10–16 compound radius and “standard thin” profile, similar to a modern Fender C
- 1.650" / 42 mm nut width with pre-installed GraphTech White TUSQ XL nut
- 25/64" or approximately 10 mm tuner ream, compatible with Schaller, modern Fender, Sperzel, and Hipshot’s 10mm tuners
- Tiltback headstock with strength-enhancing volute, and headstock truss rod adjustment
- Standard rounded Strat-style heel with four-screw mounting
- Right-handed orientation
Notes:
- The back of the neck and fretboard edge were finished with six light coats of Tru-Oil, buffed to 12000 grit, and lightly treated with gunstock wax, inspired by the Ernie Ball Music Man finishing method. The feel is satin-smooth, with a semi-gloss appearance.
- The headstock also received six coats of Tru-Oil, but no gunstock wax, similar to the EBMM approach. It was not sanded down as much as the back of the neck, so some wood-grain texture and light sanding marks may be visible in certain areas.
- Includes a black truss rod cover and mounting screws; installing it would require drilling 1-3 small screw holes.
- I would include my set of hipshot locking tuners for an extra 50$ - let me know if you're interested and I can update the listing. Tuners by default are not included.
Condition / detailed notes:
- This neck has only about two hours of playing time, so my notes are as picky as possible. It’s a great-looking neck in excellent shape and ready for its next owner!
- There are very light impressions on the back of the headstock from the mounting plate used with drill-free Hipshot tuners. No tuner mounting holes have been drilled.
- The finish was not professionally applied, but the Tru-Oil and wax combination feels excellent. I’ve tried to describe the details as carefully as possible: the headstock was not sanded as extensively as the back of the neck, and in the right light, some faint finish and grain lines may be visible along the sides, following the wood grain. Because the finish is light, the tight maple grain can still be felt and seen on the front and back of the headstock.
- A small amount of oil carried onto the fretboard near the last few frets; it should wear off naturally or could be sanded off if desired.
