The circuit is an original design rather than a clone, though it draws on the lineage of British and American high-headroom topologies. Lil' Dawg has a strong reputation among working players and boutique amp enthusiasts for build quality and reliability. This example dates to 2016, confirmed by the serial number and component date codes. The transformers are all name-brand and original: a Hammond power transformer (date code 1650 N), a Chicago Standard output transformer (manufacturer code 166, date code 1683), and a Marvel Electronics choke (manufacturer code 989, date code 1620). The preamp runs JJ ECC81 and ECC83 tubes; power section runs Sovtek 5881s with a Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier. The chassis is all-metal in excellent condition with no repairs or modifications. Potentiometers, knobs, and filter caps are all original. There is no reverb and no tremolo - just straight up tube tone.
