This is a genuine 1924 Vega Senator plectrum banjo, dated by serial number (77695) per Vega's documented production records. Vega's Senator line was a workhorse rhythm instrument during the Jazz Age, prized for its bright, cutting tone in dance-band and orchestra settings.

A previous owner had painted the headstock a non-original color; it's since been refinished back to its original color. The instrument is in good cosmetic condition with only minor wear and is fully functional, with a fresh set of strings just installed. The original planetary tuners have been replaced with modern geared tuners for smoother, more stable tuning. Hardware is otherwise mostly original.

Included with this banjo:

  • Non-original hardshell case
  • Snark clip-on tuner
  • Shoulder strap

A solid, century-old piece of American banjo history, set up and ready to play!
