This is my 2025 Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue (R9) Ultra Light Aged in Factory Burst. Weighs in at 8 lbs 10 oz
This is an exceptionally attractive example with a strong flamed maple top, vibrant factory burst, and excellent grain throughout the body and neck. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging gives it the look and feel of a well-preserved vintage Burst without excessive wear, checking, or relic work.
The guitar plays effortlessly with the classic R9 neck carve and delivers everything you would expect from a Murphy Lab Les Paul: rich midrange, articulate highs, and the dynamic response that has made these guitars some of the most sought-after instruments in the Gibson lineup.
The flame top on this guitar is particularly striking, with excellent movement and symmetry that stands out from many Murphy Lab examples currently on the market.
Condition:
Overall condition is excellent.
There is one cosmetic flaw worth noting for full transparency: a small finish chip/scratch on the side edge of the headstock that has exposed a small amount of wood/finish underneath. I have included a detailed photograph of this area. The damage is purely cosmetic and does not affect playability, structural integrity, tuning stability, or functionality in any way.
Outside of this blemish, the guitar presents extremely well and shows only the light Murphy Lab factory aging and very minimal signs of ownership.
