Do you love slapping the bass? Do you love medium scale instruments? Do you hate tight ibanez jazz bass string spacing and want some room for your fingers, but on a super playable neck? You ever want a boutique bass that is like a medium scale cross between a pbass and a stingray with killer active electronics? Than this may be the dream bass for you.

Seriously though, this is a killer bass. The wider string spacing feels really nice with a thin neck front to back, I love the 32" scale, and it sounds great with a clear fundamental and an excellent growl to the sound (and crazy sustain). Not to mention the excellent balance, it almost never goes out of tune, and looks gorgeous. I am sad to see it go, but it deserves to be with someone who will play it more, as I mostly play 6 string these days, and I need to fund more gear purchases.

Here is all the specs from the original listing where it sold for 3k.

"The bass plays and sounds great and is 8 lbs. Very comfy neck and balances very well.
This is a Fat Owl 23-32. Here are the specs:

Headless design

32 inch scale

23 frets

Single truss rod

3 piece quilt maple and mahogany neck

Wenge finger board0

Mahogany Body with Zebra Wood top/ maple accent line

Gold fret wire

zero fret

hipshot headless bridge with custom powder coat finish

Fat Owl string retainer

Delano Xtender 4D/he pickup

Nordstrand 3 band preamp with selectable mid freq switch.

18V dual battery box by Gotoh

The bass has a very nice balance when in your lap. The neck is P bass width but shallow so it plays nicely and has low string action.  Punchy tone with nice snap in the high end and deep growling lows.
The shorter scale gives it a sweet mid-range tone that sings and makes it easy to play. I placed the pickup in the sweet spot so the tone is more like a Tobias Growler than a P bass. I build a couple of basses a year and pour my heart and soul into making something that I as a bass player can enjoy playing. "

Has some dings on the horns, as picture, and is missing the tops of a couple of the knobs, which could easily be replaced. Comes with the case
