Slingerland May Belle Style No 7 Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1933) - New Case

Slingerland May Belle Style No. 7 Model Flat-Top Acoustic Guitar (1933), made in Chicago in 1933. Sunburst lacquer finish, birch body, poplar neck, pearloid (MOTS) headstock overlay and pickguard. When I purchased this guitar in 1975 it had a severe back crack that has been professionally repaired. While the back was off, I had the ladder bracing replaced with X bracing. There are slight top bulges at the upper and lower waist, a repaired center crack below the bridge and evidence of the repaired back crack. It has some finish anomalies at the bottom of the back (see pics). Other than that, it is in excellent original condition. There is barely any fret wear, the finish is in great shape (except as noted above). No corrosion on what I assume are the original Deluxe tuners.

When luthier Larry Brown first played it, before he noticed the X bracing, he said "This guitar sounds WAY BETTER than it ought to." I've owned it for 51 years and it's time to pass it on to another generation.

Overall length 36 1/4 in (93.3 cm), width 13 in (33 cm) wide at lower bout and 3 7/8 in (9.8 cm) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 in (610 mm). Width of nut is 1 13/16 in (46 mm).
