The Peavey T-15 is an American-made, short-scale (23.5") electric guitar produced from roughly 1981 to 1983. Affectionately dubbed the "Mississippi Mustang," it features dual "Super Ferrite" single-coil pickups and is widely praised for its durable build, playability, and punchy, P90-like tone.
Key Features
Body & Neck: Solid ash or maple body with a bi-laminated rock maple neck and 12" radius fretboard. The 20-fret, 23.5-inch scale is incredibly comfortable for smaller hands or fast, effortless fretting.
Pickups: Humbucker-sized Super Ferrite single coils. They deliver the heft and output of a humbucker with the clarity and twang of a Telecaster.
Hardware: Equipped with Peavey's "Tru-Lok" tuners, an aluminum nut, and a uniquely adjustable die-cast bridge. The "Amp in a Case": The T-15 was frequently sold with a molded plastic hard-shell case (often nicknamed the "chainsaw case") that featured a built-in practice amplifier. This case lost the amp many moons ago.
Valuation & Market
Today, the T-15 is a highly sought-after vintage cult favorite among collectors, beginners, and gigging indie-rock musicians.
