Up for sale is a rare and eye-catching Epiphone Nouveau Spotlight, a model inspired by Gibson’s innovative Spotlight series from the late 1980s. This guitar features a beautifully figured quilted maple top finished in a transparent amber gloss that highlights the wood grain, along with the distinctive center strip running through the body.
The Spotlight combines classic dual-humbucker power with modern playability. It has a comfortable double-cutaway body, fast neck, and versatile electronics that make it equally at home with classic rock, blues, hard rock, and fusion tones.
This was the guitar that led Paul Reed Smith to sue Gibson. Hence the rarity.
This example presents exceptionally well, with a striking figured top and plenty of vintage character. The cream-and-black zebra humbuckers, gold speed knobs, and unique fingerboard inlays give it a distinctive look that stands out from typical Super Strat-style guitars of the era.
