Original 1979 Tama Superstar concert tom set. Thought to be made of 100% Japanese birch wood. Shell Thickness: The late-1970s concert toms featured 6-ply, 9mm thick shells. These were intentionally built thicker than modern drums to deliver a powerful attack and a deeper, booming mid-low tone.
