The Schecter Omen Extreme series has earned a loyal following among players who want a serious shred machine without the serious price tag, and the Extreme-6 has long been one of the strongest values in that lineup. A mahogany body with a quilted maple arched top, bound in cream multi-ply that runs from the body up the neck into the headstock, gives this guitar a look well beyond its price point. The bolt-on maple neck has a thin C profile that gets out of the way immediately, the rosewood fingerboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets and a 14" radius is built for speed and comfort across the whole range, and the string-through-body Tune-O-Matic bridge adds sustain and tuning stability that a top-loaded bridge cannot match.
The Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers are calibrated for earth-shaking output without losing definition, and the push/pull coil-split on the master tone control opens up six total pickup sounds through the 3-way toggle — full humbucking power for riffing and leads, single-coil clarity when you need it to clean up. Set up with super low action, this one is an absolute shredder, exactly as advertised.
