Up for sale is a rare, vintage 1960s Hohner Guitaret electric lamellophone. This unique instrument produces a beautiful, organic electric kalimba/mbira sound that is highly sought after by experimental musicians, producers, and vintage gear collectors.Technical & Cosmetic Condition:

• Electronics & Mechanics: The instrument is fully functional. The internal pickup works perfectly, and all keys/metal tines trigger and play as they should. Clean output signal.
• Damping Foam: As is common with almost all Hohner instruments from this era, the original internal polyurethane damping foam has disintegrated over time. The mechanism functions, but it will need new foam/felt padding to properly mute the strings/tines during play (an easy DIY restoration project).
• Cosmetics: A previous owner wrote the note names with a marker on the body near the keys (please see pictures for details).
• Case: Comes with its rare, 100% original Hohner hardshell case. All latches and hinges on the case are fully working.
