For sale we have a 1964 Epiphone Wilshire in Cherry finish with modern Epiphone hardshell case. Built in Kalamazoo, Michigan along side legendary Gibson models, the Wilshire combined cutting-edge styling, lightweight construction and powerful mini-humbucking pickups to create a unique yet timeless design sought after by players and collectors alike.
This particular example retains all of its original parts and components (aside from a professional refret) to the very best of our knowledge. It has been played and enjoyed over the years showing moderate cosmetic wear throughout but not abused. The body shows light surface scuffs, dings, dents and a minimal lacquer checking. Most of the dings and dents are scattered along the edges/sides of the body. The original nickel hardware shows some oxidation and play wear and the original white pickguard is crack-free. The neck is straight and in good shape. The backside has had some of the lacquer worn thin from many years of playing, but nothing down to bare wood. The fingerboard appears to have had a professional refret with medium jumbo frets. They are in great shape and show very little visible play wear. Overall a very tidy and 99% original example that looks and sounds incredible.
