Here we have a unique Jazzcaster / Telemaster build in excellent condition. A Jazzmaster with a Telecaster feel and the tone and sustain of a Les Paul. It sounds amazing, plays like a dream, and feels very comfortable and familiar in the hands.
A two piece ash body from Warmoth coupled with a roasted maple neck by Musikraft with an Indian rosewood fretboard and real abalone dot inlays. It has a very comfortable Medium C profile (.83-.92), a compound 10-12” radius, rolled fretboard edges, 6230 vintage specs frets, a 1-11/16” natural colored TUSQ nut, and Kluson style vintage tuners. The back of the neck has been lightly sanded and aged, then finished in True Oil and gunstock wax giving it the smoothest most comfortable feel this side of Nash and Reverend. The frets are perfectly leveled, crowned, and polished, and it is setup with low action and spot on intonation.
It has a very solid and substantial Callaham telecaster bridge with compensated saddles for excellent sustain and tuning stability. The Callaham bridge is currently setup for string thru to capture the wonderful sustain of the ash body, but has the option for top loading the strings to get some vintage Tele twang if desired.
The tonal centerpiece of this guitar is a beautifully matched set of bone white Lindy Fralin Pure PAF humbuckers with a 5% overwound bridge for perfect balance and a touch more push. These are Fralin’s most vintage‑accurate PAFs—low output, super dynamic, and full of that open, airy 50s character. The neck pickup is clear, woody, and articulate, with that classic hollow‑body sweetness and zero mud. It has the chime and string‑to‑string detail you expect from a real low‑wind PAF. Roll back the volume and it stays bright and musical; dig in and it blooms with harmonics. The overwound bridge adds just the right amount of extra mids and output, just a slightly stronger voice that balances perfectly with the neck. It has a sweet top end, a vocal midrange, and a tight, vintage low end that never gets harsh or congested. This set feels alive under the fingers. They respond instantly to pick attack, clean up beautifully, and deliver that unmistakable PAF “air” that only low‑output, hand‑wound pickups can.
Keeping the quiet parts quiet and smooth are a set of CTS audio taper pots, an awesome vintage Ceramic tone cap from a 1976 Les Paul Deluxe, and a Switchcraft output jack.
