Gibson re-introduced this 1960s inspired SG Special in 2019 and when they did, they did a limited run in Inverness Green, a one-year-only special color. You see the Pelham Blue, Cherry Red and Ebony often, but almost never the Inverness Green. It's a cool color.
This one is mostly original but with some tasteful mods. The most notable is the addition of the long Maestro Lyre-style vibrato which has always looked killer on the SG body going back to the SG-bodied Les Paul Customs of the early 1960s. To help maximize stability, locking studs were also added to the bridge. Everything else is original including the P90 pickups and electronics, Kluson-style Gibson Deluxe tuners, knobs, pickugard and strap buttons. As with the vintage Specials, the neck is bound with dot markers.
It plays great with low action and it is intonated nicely. The P90s do that P90 thing, nice bite and attack but clean up when needed. The weight is great on this and it is very balanced too. Overall, just a stunning guitar that looks as good as it plays / sounds. There are some minor dings on the guitar, nothing that really jumps out, but it's not perfect so look at the pictures.
Original hard case with the Gibson strap and bag-of-goodies (unopened) included.
