Origin 20 head that has recently received the "headfirst" mods the "800" mod, the jose 3 way diode mod and a "depth pot mod" performed by Mike Wagner at Wagner Amp Repair in Erie PA. His work is demoed on Kyle Bulls video called " these modded marshall Origin amps blew me away" on YouTube. It also had the tubes tested and the preamp tubes tested good except one "unstable" power tube so both were replaced with JJ EL34 II tubes. The amp is in pristine condition and just being at the the shop performs perfectly. I had it modded because factory they are very vintage voiced low gain amps I wanted the it to be better for high gain metal but that was really unrealistic because it still isn't. It is totally not the same amp the mods did really wake it up to be considerably more aggressive but in a old school jcm 800 or jmp way. It will do rock to hard rock just not extreme metal duhh I don't know why I was so delusional. So I just never use it now and I have quite a lot of money invested with the $370 for the mods and the $80 worth of round trip shipping on top of the original investment buying it so it's frustrating and I'd like to go with someone who will use it and I can go a different route, I want to sell it or trade it for a very high gain amp even just a DSL20 where their voiced more modern. someone has watched videos on these. If someone loves old school vintage tones and has really wanted one of these very popular now Origins with headfirst mods this is the most affordable way to have tones similar to the uber expensive JCM800/JMP amps these are it, it's very likely you will never get into one of these in this kind excellent condition any cheaper. Also a very important thing to know these mods utilize the efx loop tube to achieve the higher gain so it removes the efx loop, you can install an aftermarket one the actual kit isn't that expensive like $100ish but if paying a tech to install it runs the price up. If someone has soldering skills and patience headfirst has a video walking you thru it, he told me it was possible to do as a diy project.
