This Vintage API 550A-1 is in great shape. It was manufactured in the Huntington, NY API facility back in the 70s. It was recently inspected and had switches and knobs cleaned. All bands and filter work fine. This unit sounds great. I have a few units like this one at the moment. You can send me a message if you are interested in more than one unit. This is the unit number 7.
For those not familiar with the 550A-1, this unit is very similar to the 550A with a few differences:
- use of ICs in the circuit
- singe 2520 Op Amp instead of two.
- constant Q
- balanced input (instead of unbalanced)
These units use the same 550A faceplate, which sometimes can be confusing.
