Fender BANDMASTER 1966 w/Mather Cab

Here's an early 1966 Bandmaster that's completely serviced and dialed in. You're getting an amp that's exceptionally quiet at idle and good to go for years to come on stage or in the studio. Vibrato is rich and luscious. After-market Fender vibrato footswitch provided. Chassis is mounted in a custom made Peter Mather cabinet and it also comes with the orginal head shell. The Mather cabinet houses a custom Weber 4 ohm, light dope Blue Dog AlNiCo 50 watt speaker, built to order.  Lots of options for grab-and-go, or pairing with the speaker cab of your choosing. Total 4 ohm load is spec, but you'll be just fine with an 8 ohm load. TOTAL COMBO WEIGHT: 44lbs.

I endeavored to keep everything as orginal as possible. All transformers are orginal. All resistance and capacitance values were checked, and only those components out of spec were replaced. You can see all the blue molded Ajax caps made the cut. All electrolytics were replaced with F&T and Sprague. Tubes are a mix of new production and NOS. I settled on a pair of matched TAD black plate 6L6GC's for the output. They provide the best possible combination of the classic Fender tube clean sound with loads of harmonic content. The amp starts to break over around 5.5-6 on the volume knob. These tubes also play well for folks inclined to use pedals to drive the front end a little harder.  The preamp tubes are new production TAD and Mullard in positions 1 and 2. The vibrato circuit tube is NOS Sylvania 12AX7; the phase inverter an RCA 12AT7.

I also replaced the power cord to a sturdier 3-prong, and I re-wired the AC service to modern code (hot is fused). The courtesy outlet and ground switch (and its Ajax death cap) are in place but no longer a part of the circuit. 

The Mather cab is an example of the pinnacle of craftsmanship.  Here are a few more details:
