This 1998 Music Man Stingray USA bass is in virtually mint condition...with the exception of a tiny 1/4” x 1/16”nick on the upper bout, there when I bought the bass. I have included a closeup of the nick in the pictures.

The grain in the body is gorgeous and the neck, frets, electronics, body and hardware are all in beautiful almost unplayed condition. It also comes with a brand new Hipshot Bass Xtender that I bought and installed...lowers the E string to a low D with the flip of a lever.

When I first got the bass, I checked the serial number on the Music Man data base, and saw that the bass was listed as teal but with a rosewood neck. The bass has a maple neck, so I removed the neck and have included pictures. You can see inspection initials faintly on the neck, the number 98 for year, an M for neck size, and the printed 900 indicates a Music Man production or batch code. I checked online, all these are characteristics of a genuine Music Man neck, and it also carries the stock Music Man labeled tuners. I have had several US Stingrays over the years, and the neck plays and feels like all the others.

It was professionally set up with a low action by Capital City Guitars in Olympia, Washington with new D'Addario NYXL strings that have less than four hours of playing time. I bought the bass for a rock project that fell through. I am playing my other basses with flats which fit the music in my other bands and at church, so it's just not getting played.
