2009 Fender Custom Shop 51 Nocaster NOS in its' original 'Thin Skin' Copper finish with blackguard. A rare color and incredible playing guitar with a nice fat neck. Original pickups have a real classic vintage Telecaster tone. Neck pickup is nice and hot and strong with classic vintage Fender twang. Neck pickup is nice and warm. A perfect guitar for the player and collector alike.
The 'Thin Skin' cellulose laquer finish provides better tonal resonance from the wood and strings, without muddling the clarity of the tone like a heavier modern clear coat does. It also contracts and develops 'checks' in the clearcoat for a nice relic effect over time. I tried to capture that in the photos as best as I could. Also, the volume knob was ordered in chrome, but not the tone knob (was left blank) - as indicated in the Traveller Sheet.
The guitar comes with a “case candy” kit, Certificate and Traveller with a nice Custom Shop cable.
