Star Midget coctail bass 1960's - MOP

For your consideration we have a nice old Star drum.. I've been told it is from the Midget collection. Not your ordinary stock drum. May have been made for a marching band or a special use. From Midget collection with Marine/Mother of Pear wrap 1960's. Could be part of the Star Midget Coctail kit. Unusual striping on the drum. Not standard from Star. First appearing in Star catalogs around 1965, these novelty mini-kits typically feature 16-inch bass drums and matching small-diameter snares, and are highly sought after by collectors of vintage Japanese drums. Origins: Manufactured in Japan by the Star Drum Company (which later evolved into Tama Drums).Kit Components: Usually configured as a 3 or 4-piece, low-teen outfit. A classic Midget setup features a 16” x 9” bass drum, a small 9” or 10” wooden shell snare drum, and a matching rack or floor tom.Badges & Hardware: Early models sport a distinct rectangular silver badge and utilize Star's 920 or 921 style lugs.Finishes: They were offered in vibrant wraps common to the era, including Red Marine Pearl, Sparkles, and Satin Flame. 16”.
