So here we have a very cool Gretsch 6120W Western Nashville from 1992. Just take a look at those inlays!
If you Google the model you will easily find the full spec and plenty of reviews for this great guitar.
These pre-Fender Gretsch instruments are known for their excellent craftsmanship and are often considered to be amongst the best to be built after the company's revival in 1989.
All original apart from it has a Tusq nut fitted and Schaller strap locks.
The trem arm on this one is different to most others of this model as it has the curved Chet Atkins arm rather than the regular flat one. I believe that some did come from the factory with this arm around this time, but I guess it could have been added after purchase - very soon after judging by the wear which is consistent with the rest of the Bigsby. My money is actually on it being original. Either way, it is a desirable upgrade from the flat one
The guitar is in great condition throughout considering its age, with just a small number of super light and very tiny dings and scratches dotted around when you get it up against the light - definitely nothing that you can see face on. There is some light buckle scratching on the back that I have tried to capture in the pic - again, can't be seen face on and looks worse in the picture than in real life.
The neck. headstock and fretboard are all in excellent condition. There is a very small chip in the fretboard at the 3rd fret but it is pretty inconsequential. The frets are in tip top condition with next to no fret wear.
The gold hardware is working perfectly and is worn commensurate with its age.
All electrics are working perfectly.
Comes in the original Gretsch case which is fully functional with just the usual light wear and tear.
The guitar has just had a full setup, including a fret polish. It is playing beautifully, with nice and low slinky action and sounding exactly as you would expect it to!
So there you go - a super cool Gretsch that is about as Gretschy as it gets!
When you buy a guitar from me you will get:
A full setup with a new set of Ernie Ball/D’addario 10's
- Neck relief set as straight as possible (let me know if you need more or less relief to suit your playing style)
- Nut slot height checked and adjusted where necessary.
- Intonation set.
- Action set as low as it will go with minimal buzz.
- Pickup heights adjusted and volumes balanced.
The fretboard cleaned and oiled (rosewood) and the frets properly polished and dressed if necessary. I always look for any high spots on the frets and spot level as part of the polishing process. I will carry out a full fret level where necessary.
Full electrics check and components cleaned.
All hardware checked and adjusted.
A full and thorough clean and polish with quality guitar products.
I have years of experience working on all sorts of guitars and make my living as a Guitar Tech, so you can buy from me in absolute confidence that the guitar you are buying has been described honestly and is looking, playing and sounding it's best! I will not sell a guitar that is not right!
I am happy to post. Shipping by Parcel Force 24 will cost you £25 (UK), this includes packaging costs. Please be aware that this is an uninsured service but it is tracked. You can be confident that I pack guitars very well indeed - the guitar is packed inside the case so that it cannot move and with plenty of support for the neck and headstock. The case is then packed into a large cardboard box and the box is packed and padded out with large bubble wrap and filler so that the guitar is fully protected inside. I am confident that it will be fine even if dropped and have never had a problem. If you do want an insured service please discuss cost with me first.
I am happy to deliver over reasonable distances for petrol costs.
