Bought this machine for parts and the seller described it not being able to record with scratchy / distorted playback. The issue seemed to be some components ends touching each other as well as poor solder jobs by whoever opened it last causing certain pads to be connecting when not intended. Inspecting schematics and donor boards this machine is now back to life! After electronic repairs i fully serviced the transport with grease and rubber renue and cleaned all faders and pots. Tested all 4 track recording capabilities as well as ping ponging and effect send and everything works great. Slight cosmetic wear from the previous owner but this does not affect the machines capabilities. This service process take a little bit of time and effort hence the heftier price.
