Epiphone Jared James Nichols "Old Glory" Les Paul Custom Outfit is one of the more desirable modern Epiphone signature models. It was produced as a limited-edition artist model around 2019–2020 and was designed to replicate Jared's heavily modified 1950s Les Paul Custom.
The "Old Glory" is intentionally minimalist:
- Only one pickup (bridge-position Seymour Duncan P-90)
- No pickup selector switch
- No neck pickup
- Wraparound bridge for maximum resonance
- Thick vintage neck
- Ebony fretboard
Jared Nichols plays fingerstyle blues-rock and wanted a guitar that was essentially a "hot-rodded" Les Paul. He described it as a simple, wide-open platform focused on tone and feel rather than electronics.
