Early 1957 Fender Precision bass in very good condition. It has a very realistic 2-tone Sunburst refinish. Serial:11708. It also has new CTS pots/changed capacitor, a couple of new cloth wires, a changed pickguard, and it's been refretted with a clear lacquer refin on the fingerboard. It is supplied in a G&G/Fender tweed case.

It's very light, weighing only 7 lbs 15.5 oz / 3.62 kg. It has a soft V-profile maple neck and clean frets with plenty of life left in them - they have been dressed and polished in our workshop. There's a large patch of buckle rash on the back of the body and various small nicks, dings and scuffs in the finish. The back of the neck is clean. The headstock has some scuffs along the top edge, but nothing major. The neck is straight, and the truss rod operates correctly. There are no breaks or repairs, and everything remains structurally sound. It plays and sounds great with a nice low action. It has that really woody, earthy, thumpy tone that makes it a pleasure to play. 

Fully set up with a set of flat-wound strings. The pencil date in the pickup cavity reads 8/56. The neck pencil date is 4/7/57.   Nut width 43.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.5 mm.
