A used 2003 Gibson ES-165 Herb Ellis has arrived in stock.

Herb Ellis (August 4, 1921 – March 28, 2010) was one of America’s leading jazz guitar virtuosos.

He left behind numerous masterful performances, both as a bandleader and as a sideman.

This full-acoustic guitar features a 16-inch laminated maple body in the ES-175 style, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and a floating-style pickup.

The only control is a volume knob mounted on the pickguard.

It produces the distinctive acoustic sound characteristic of the floating-style pickup.

There is a crack in the finish at the edge of the neck binding.

There is a slight dip in the top, but this has been compensated for by adjusting the bridge height.

The frets are at a good height, and playability is excellent.

Comes with the original hard case.
