A used Fender USA American Vintage '57 Stratocaster has arrived.

This is a reproduction of the legendary guitar known affectionately as "Blackie."

Based on the pot and neck dates, it was manufactured in 1990.

This model reproduces the 1957 Stratocaster specifications.

It features an alder body with a maple neck and fretboard.

It has original vintage-style pickups in the neck and bridge positions.

The middle pickup has been replaced with a Duncan SSL.

The wiring has recently been redone, and there is no crackling or other issues. It has been fitted with a 5-way switch,

and supports half-tones. The tone controls are all adjustable by position; the center tone controls the neck pickup, and the rear tone controls both the neck and bridge pickups.

The neck of this guitar is in excellent condition and has been well-adjusted. Currently, the string height is set quite low for a guitar with a tightly radiused fretboard (7.25-inch R = 184mm R), at approximately 1.2mm at the 12th fret of the 1st string and 1.7mm at the 12th fret of the 6th string. This allows for comfortable playing without buzzing or dead notes.

There is ample adjustment range in the truss rod and nut, so future warping can be accommodated.

Approximately 3.4kg, making it a manageable weight.
