Alvarez K Yairi DY-88 (1990s) – Good Condition
Up for sale is a Alvarez DY-88 acoustic-electric, made in the 1990s — a great era for Alvarez craftsmanship. This model was part of the Yairi series, known for high-quality materials, solid tonewoods, and reliable stage performance. Also known for being played by Radiohead's Thome Yorke live in some of Ok. Computer tour. Played on Paranoid Android, Exit Music (for a film), Let Down, Karma Police, Electioneering, Climbing Up The Walls, and No Surprises.
Condition
Overall good condition for its age. The guitar shows lots of surface scratches and playwear typical of a well-played instrument from this era — purely cosmetic, with no cracks, breaks, or structural issues. Frets are in good shape, the neck is straight, and the electronics work as they should.
Tone & Playability
The DY-88 offers that signature warm, balanced Alvarez tone, with a clear top end and rich low mids. It plays comfortably up and down the neck, making it equally at home on stage or in the studio. As it has no soundhole, it less prono to feedback.
