Pearl 665 Coda Flute - 10k gold lip, C# trill, new case and cover

This is a fantastic Pearl 665 "Coda" flute, a model with a 10k gold lip plate that is no longer being made.  It has been replaced by the Pearl 665 "Vivace" flute with the same keywork, but a 3k gold lip plate instead of the Coda's 10k gold lip plate. New 665 Vivace models are $3,135+ at major retailers.

This flute features a sterling silver Pearl headjoint with the upgraded 10k gold lip plate, silverplated body, foot, and keys, making it perhaps Pearl's best intermediate/advanced flute for aspiring flutists.  It has the highly desired key configuration: Open holes, B foot, offset G, Split E mechanism, the VERY beneficial C# trill key, and a roller on the D# key to facilitate quick transitions for the pinky across the foot joint keys.  Has Pearl's patented pinless mechanism and one-piece core bar to allow for solid, reliable keywork operation.

Overall, this flute is a dream to play.  It produces a very rich, resonant tone which is also very flexible.  Intonation throughout the range is excellent.  The split E mechanism makes high E just "pop" out almost effortlessly, and the additional feature of the C# trill greatly improves the ease of the B-C# trill, C-C# trill, the high G-A trill, high Ab-Bb trill, and more.  Even if you don't encounter these trills frequently in your playing, the C# trill key pays dividends at allowing for an alternate fingering for C# which greatly enhances the tone and volume capability of first- and second-octave C#, which are often muted and sharp on many instruments.  Simply finger "C" and add the C# trill key!

The flute itself is in excellent used condition with minor signs of wear.  Tarnish is minimal, and there are no dents or dings in the body.  Pads and key corks are in excellent condition, and the headjoint cork is new.

The wooden Pearl case and Pearl case cover are both brand new as of June 2026, and include the Pearl accessories shown.

Again, the Pearl 665 Coda flutes are no longer being made, so these upgraded Coda headjoints with 10k gold lip are becoming very rare.  Not only do they sound amazing, but they look stunning and add inherent value to an already incredible flute.
