Neve 8801 Channel Strip, purchased brand new from Sweetwater on 10/8/25 for over $4,000. Note: The newer 8801’s have an all black chassis (as shown in the listing photos). The older versions have a metal chassis. 

This unit has seen extremely light use. I honestly don’t think it has even been powered on long enough to track a full song. I went a bit preamp crazy in 2025 while trying to find the right match for a few microphone I was using at the time, and I ended up hanging on to the 8801 because of the features, flexibility, and huge amount of headroom.

Unfortunately, I never ended up using it the way I thought I would, and my studio has since shifted away from tracking. It has now been converted into more of a dedicated mixing room, which is the only reason for the sale.

The 8801 is a seriously underrated Neve channel strip. A lot of people focus on the Shelford Channel, Newton Channel, or classic 1073 style options, but the 8801 deserves way more attention. The preamp is inspired by the AMS Neve 88RS, their flagship large format analog console known for its depth, pristine high fidelity sound, and excellent dynamic range.

This is a clean, modern, high headroom Neve channel strip with a full EQ, dynamics section, and a ton of routing flexibility. It works great for vocals, instruments, stems, and front end tracking, while also being useful in a mixing setup.

Condition is excellent overall. Very minor cosmetic scratches on the top plate from racking, but they are hardly noticeable and obviously a non issue once racked. The front panel is clean and the unit functions perfectly.
