Vintage Ludwig Acrolite 404 Snare drum with case and stand

A terrific, vintage Ludwig snare. This is one of the 5 x 14" models with the pointy badge. Serial number dates it to around 1976. Cosmetically you can tell it's about 50 years old but the throw off and muffler are in great working order so I'm calling it VERY GOOD. Some minor pitting on the chrome. The head shows very little wear and appears to be original so I'm guessing this has seen minimal play. The wires look original but I'd say they have life left in them. Included with the drum is the case, stand and a tuning key.

I have literally tried to get these things to sound bad but can't seem to do it. They have this signature sound that may not be the sweetest or the most nuanced tone but they do just always seem to sound good and "right" for lack of a better way to put it. Not a booming cavernous sound to them but just the right amount of crack and pop with enough body and thud to it. They are incredibly easy to dial in and will do the job for just about any gig I can imagine.
