Here is a Rane pre circa 1990. 60 dB of clean gain and this actually comes with the bespoke power supply!
Note I bought the unit with the phantom button broken. I haven’t tried to run phantom power and have used this strictly with dynamics. It very well may just need to be opened up and reset.
