This is a Fender PB62-55 Precision Bass in Olympic White, built at the renowned FujiGen factory in Japan during the mid-1980s. Part of Fender Japan's highly regarded vintage reissue series, the PB62-55 faithfully captures the look, feel and tone of the classic 1962 Precision Bass.

Constructed with a basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, the PB62 delivers the unmistakable Precision Bass sound that has underpinned countless recordings for over six decades. The split-coil pickup produces a warm, punchy low end, strong midrange presence and impressive clarity, making it equally at home in rock, soul, blues, punk and pop settings. It is the sound associated with legendary players such as James Jamerson, Steve Harris and Roger Waters, whose recordings helped establish the Precision Bass as an industry standard.

This example is in very good condition for its age. As expected from a bass approaching four decades old, there are numerous chips, dings and signs of honest use throughout, all contributing to its vintage character. The bass plays exceptionally well with a comfortable, easy action, and the frets retain plenty of life. It has been fully inspected in our workshop and is ready for many more years of service.

Weighing a comfortable 8.65lbs, it offers excellent balance and playing comfort whether on stage or in the studio.

Supplied with a period-correct rectangular hard case. The case shows significant cosmetic wear but remains fully functional and provides secure protection.

A superb example of the golden-era FujiGen production period, offering vintage styling, dependable craftsmanship and the timeless tone that has made the Precision Bass one of the most recorded instruments in history.
