Personal Thoughts:
This is a really special PRS and one of those guitars that feels like it should not really exist outside of the Private Stock world. The Modern Eagle V is already one of PRS’s most impressive modern designs, because it takes the company’s usual refinement and pushes the switching and tonal flexibility much further than most players expect. The five-coil layout, the extra mini toggles and the push / pull tone control gives this guitar a huge spread of sounds, but it still looks elegant and uncluttered. That is a big part of why the model works so well.

The Wood Library aspect makes this example even more appealing. A figured maple 10-top over ash, paired with a figured maple neck and rosewood board, is a really classy and unusual combination, and it should give the guitar plenty of resonance, clarity and snap while still keeping the warmth and sustain you want from a high-end PRS. It also sounds like one of those very unusual pieces with a bit of mystery around it, which only adds to the appeal. The Modern Eagle V was a big talking-point model when PRS introduced it, and examples like this feel especially interesting when they turn up outside the routes people normally expect. A very high-end, very clever and very desirable PRS.
