Manufactured in the USA during the late 1970s, this rugged workhorse was originally engineered to drive passive stage monitor wedges in live sound reinforcement systems. Over the decades, however, it has achieved a cult status among musicians who use it as a highly reliable, high-headroom utility amplifier. Because it features a flat, wide frequency response and a clean solid-state power block, it is frequently used by modern players as a powerful guitar head (particularly for down-tuned, fuzz, or stoner rock styles) or as a bass and keyboard amplifier.
