Per technician, this alto sax was manufactured and assembled in France based on the lacquer color and engraving.
It really sounds incredible and it has the signature “Selmer sizzle” to the sound.
The key action on this is adjusted to play like butter and very responsive.
Since the overhaul, after every single play session, this horn has always been cleaned and swabbed out.
This is a highly sought after Mark VI, not only for the condition it’s in, but for its “medium bow” which gives it the perfect balance of depth, intonation, and projection.
Reason for selling: All honesty, I found this alto by chance “as is” for an unspeakable deal. So I spared no expense to have it professionally restored to tip-top shape. Not long after did I realize that this horn is truly too good for a tenor saxophonist like myself. I play ~50 gigs a year and out of those, I play maybe ~5 on alto sax? I’ll be fine with a new-cheaper alto. This alto deserves to be played by a true alto saxophonist.
