Up for sale, a 2005 Gibson Custom Shop Historic ‘57 Les Paul Standard Goldtop R7 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and COA. This Custom Shop iteration of a ‘57-spec Goldtop was ordered by Gibson’s Japanese distributor Yamano; Gibson’s USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered to be among their absolute best, featuring the highest quality woods picked for Gibson’s discerning Japanese audience.
Weighing 9lbs 13oz, traditional tonewoods include a mahogany body, carved two-piece maple top, one-piece mahogany neck with proper “baseball bat” heft, and a bound rosewood fingerboard. The natural acoustic tone offers punch, detail, and ample sustain, and the Burstbucker #1 and #2 PAF pickups do an excellent job of translating the natural properties of the instrument. There's plenty of power and bark in the bridge position, with thick, woody sounds from the neck pickup that are ideal for fat leads. This Custom Shop Historic ‘57 Les Paul Goldtop has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
