1960s Leblanc Paris 708 Sonic Pro Trumpet, Awesome Player, Ports Aligned, EXC

Rare late 1960s Leblanc Paris 708 Sonic Professional Trumpet, Artist version upgrade of the popular 707 Sonic, .460 bore, incredible player, valve ports precisely aligned with horn ports using premium Valentino quiet pads and Opti corks, excellent playing and cosmetic condition. The valves are like mirrors!

This horn has an incredible warm, full tone that can definitely go edgy when pushed. Valve action is definite and silky smooth. Compression is excellent. There is a very clear champagne cork pop when slides 1-3 are removed quickly. Slotting is superb. Intonation is excellent from pedal tones up through D above the staff, my upper range. It is a true joy to play and does everything a high-end trumpet should do and does it very, very well. This horn is ready for whatever you want it to do!

The upscale nature of this instrument is evident in the details. Valve caps, buttons, water valve hardware and slide ferrules are all gold plated. Valve guides and screws are an excellent design not often encountered. Slide tubes are all solid German silver. LeBlanc ads state that the slides were all hand lapped at the factory during assembly. They still fit very well!

The horn was fully disassembled, dents were removed by a professional instrument repair shop. It was fully cleaned and reassembled with new water valve corks, valve springs, corks and pads. All consumable items on this horn have been renewed. There is no evidence of any repairs. There is some splitting on the main tuning slide ferrules, likely from removing a stuck slide at some point. However, the splits are sealed and do not affect the horns function.

This horn came to me with a crusty, flaking lacquer finish that had allowed spotty corrosion all over the horn. I chemically stripped it and then polished it judiciously so as to not remove too much metal. Some spotty evidence of corrosion remains. Includes a Holton case of similar vintage and a Courtois Bb mouthpiece, both in excellent condition. Pictures tell the story and supersede any written description. Ask any questions!
