• Compressor Section: The unit utilizes dbx's proprietary OverEasy® compression (rather than hard-knee), which allows for smoother, more transparent transitions as the audio crosses the threshold. The compressor features simple controls for threshold, ratio, and output gain.
• Expander/Gate Section: Equipped with a below-threshold attenuator, the gate includes a variable threshold (from +10 to -60 dB) and two selectable release rate settings (Fast and Slow). This section is highly effective at eliminating background noise or mic bleed.
• PeakStop Limiter: It includes a fixed-threshold peak limiter designed to prevent massive transients from reaching destructive levels or causing unwanted distortion.
