Rare vintage Maestro WW-1 wah/volume pedal. Rebadged Farfisa unit.
Has been serviced with a super high quality NOS Siemens 16V electrolytic capacitor to replace the old original 6V rated cap (this circuit runs on 9V). The original battery connector contacts rusted out, so it was replaced as well.
The original CTS dual-gang pot has been thoroughly flushed out with a lubricating electronic contact cleaner. It dates to the 50th week of 1967, so I think this pedal was manufactured/sold in 1968.
The switch was flushed out as well.
Lastly, the pivot contact points on each side were cleaned and then lubricated with a drop of colorless/odorless Lily White sewing machine oil to keep it rocking smoothly and quietly.
The circuit is all original with no modifications. Still runs on 9V battery only.
Pedal works well. The bypass/volume circuit is muddy and not really usable by modern standards--if you want to use this pedal on your board, run it through a bypass switch/loop with the wah always engaged.
The wah circuit is really nice sounding. The original pot crackles in a couple of spots in its sweep which is typical of pretty much every vintage wah these days, but it's really not bad enough to warrant replacing the original component. The heart of these old wah pedals is the original pot.
Overall a really cool piece.
