A seriously cool vintage Strat here, and one that's becoming increasingly difficult to find in this specification.

This 1977 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail is finished in classic 3-Tone Sunburst and delivers all the feel, character and unmistakable sound that make late-'70s USA Fenders so popular. The hardtail bridge configuration is considerably less common than the standard tremolo-equipped version and offers excellent sustain, tuning stability and a direct, punchy response.

The guitar retains its original neck pickup and original CTS potentiometers. The middle and bridge pickups have been replaced at some point in its life, although both balance well with the original neck pickup and provide a versatile range of classic Strat tones.

Internally, the guitar retains its original 3-way selector switch. Fender began transitioning to 5-way switches around this period, but many instruments continued leaving the factory with 3-way switches, making this entirely appropriate for a 1977 example.

A wonderful vintage player's guitar that has clearly been enjoyed throughout its life whilst remaining remarkably well preserved.

Supplied with a non-original hard case.

Condition

Very good overall condition for a guitar approaching 50 years old.

The body shows a number of small dings, chips and general signs of use that are entirely consistent with a well-loved vintage instrument. Nothing excessive and nothing that detracts from the guitar's overall presentation or playability.

The neck remains in excellent condition with minimal wear, while the frets are in great shape with plenty of life remaining.

Internally, the guitar retains its original CTS pots and original 3-way switch, with the only notable changes being the replacement middle and bridge pickups.

An honest, great-playing vintage USA Stratocaster that offers all the charm and mojo you'd hope for from a late-'70s Fender.
