I've historically owned Japanese Jackson guitars, and they are awesome to be sure as most of you know. But now I fully understand what all the fuss is regarding these USA-built masterpieces. As soon as I picked it up and strummed it, my immediate reaction was like...'Wow, OK!' Low action, effortless playability, and it just sings. Ontario, California build...pre-Fender era.
With great reluctance I offer up this gorgeous 1995 (1996 model year) Jackson USA DK-1 electric guitar. It appears to be all original. According to the factory hang tag, this DK-1 was 'born' on December 6, 1995 and was purchased by the original owner on March 22, 1996 at the legendary and much beloved (and now sadly closed) Rhythm City Music store in Atlanta, Georgia. Look them up online. There's even a 5-minute commercial clip about them on YouTube. (The original sales receipt is not included herein in order to protect the individual's privacy.)
1996 was the very FIRST year of issue of the Jackson USA DK-1, making this guitar even more valuable and historically unique. I've added a couple of photos from the actual 1996 Jackson Guitars catalog regarding it. The guitar was obviously bought as a collectible because it appears to be unused. Yes, if you look close enough under the right lighting and angles you'll find very few faint surface imperfections. But for them to be nearly invisible on a black finish after 30 years tells you something. As the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words." I'll not bore you with this guitar's specs. They're readily available online and if you're looking at this guitar, chances are you're already fully aware of everything about it. Please expand and review all the high resolution photos and judge for yourself the immaculate condition of this now 30-year old masterpiece.
These first DK-1 models (1996 to 1998?) have 22 frets and a Humbucker/Single/Single pickup configuration, and the single coil pickups are positioned somewhat staggered. Very cool feature. I believe sometime around 1999 they switched to 24 frets and a Humbucker/Humbucker configuration. I really like this particular setup and it feels and sounds amazing. And this has got to be the LOUDEST electric guitar I own when playing it unplugged. It it obviously very sonically alive. (Don't worry, I've only gently strummed on this and am extremely attentive and careful not to mar the instrument in any way.)
You could eat off of this guitar as it's that clean. It came to me with what appear to be new Ernie Ball 9-42 strings, tremolo bar, original hang tag and owner's manual along with a new, current issue Jackson molded hard shell case with two keys as shown. Shipping charge is somewhat higher than I normally charge, but this is to cover the added cost for mandatory insurance. I've shipped nearly a hundred guitars damage-free over the years so no worries there.
