Released in the late 1990s, the CS1x became one of Yamaha's most popular virtual analog synthesizers, offering a wide range of synth, dance, techno, trance, ambient, and electronic sounds in a lightweight and easy-to-program package. The combination of real-time control knobs, arpeggiator functions, and Yamaha's XG sound engine made it a favorite among both live performers and home studio musicians.

This unit has been tested and is functioning; however, there are a few issues worth noting.

The LCD display powers on and remains operational, but many pixels are missing, making portions of the display difficult to read. The synthesizer is also missing several of the original control knobs on the front panel. Despite these cosmetic and functional shortcomings, the unit remains a usable platform for players familiar with the CS1x operating system or those looking for a project unit.
