We have received a used Paul Reed Smith Silver Sky Rosewood Tungsten
The PRS Silver Sky is a guitar born from a design concept that breaks away from past styles, featuring PRSfs original single-coil pickups designed to capture the sound of vintage guitars?particularly those manufactured in 1963 and 1964?which are deeply cherished by John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith.
Born from two years of research and development, this Silver Sky features the distinct sound that both John and Paul sought, and is generously equipped with PRS original parts designed and developed specifically to deliver this guitarfs unique tone and playability.
While the headstock shape is a PRS trademark, it has been redesigned with a reverse headstock to suit John Mayerfs playing style, and tuning stability has been further enhanced by increasing the distance from the nut to the tuners.
The tuners are PRS original pegs that feature the PRS Locking System, despite being traditional vintage-style Kluson-type tuners. The original steel tremolo system allows the arm to rest flush against the body when in the neutral position. This setup limits the bridgefs movement to pitch-down only, but by increasing the contact area between the bridge and the body, it enhances the bodyfs natural resonance, resulting in a dynamic sound and improved signal-to-noise ratio for the single-coil pickups.
The 635JM pickup is a PRS original pickup developed exclusively for the Silver Sky, characterized by a wide range and a fat, crisp sound.
Additionally, the Silver Sky offers a choice of rosewood or maple fingerboards, both with a 7.25h fingerboard radius. The neck of the rosewood fingerboard model features a slightly larger rounded shoulder, creating a shape that fits more comfortably in the palm of the hand. The shape of the neck for both fingerboard options was derived from meticulous research into vintage guitars and numerous on-stage tests conducted by John Mayer himself.
The fully original molded jack plate, designed for smooth plug insertion and removal, is another feature born from the guitarfs intended use in live performance.
We hope that this Silver Sky, created by John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith, will become a new choice for guitarists around the world, regardless of musical genre?whether rock, blues, jazz, funk, or beyond.
