This is a modified D’Angelico Excel DC (EX-DC) semi-hollow guitar, similar to an ES-335 in construction, made in Korea. A faux Vibrola tailpiece was added for aesthetics and as a counterweight to the headstock, to help prevent neck dive, and a De Lisle Pentatone 6-way notch filter was added to replicate the Gibson Varitone. The pickups are Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 Model humbuckers with coil splits on the push/pull tone controls. The neck is incredibly thin, and remarkably comfortable to play fast licks on the 16-inch fretboard radius. If you’ve been looking for a guitar reminiscent of Alex Lifeson’s white ES-355, but don’t get along with Gibson or Epiphone neck shapes, this is the guitar for you! Ships with hardshell case included.
