Killer Vintage Peavey T-60 in Wine Red – USA-Made Tone Machine!
This is a fantastic example of Peavey’s groundbreaking first production electric guitar — the T-60, made in Meridian, Mississippi, USA. This wine red beauty (sometimes called burgundy or dark red) has that classic late-70s/early-80s vibe with a glossy finish that still pops.Key Features:
- Solid Ash Body — hefty (these are known for being tanks) with double-cutaway design and ergonomic contours
- Bolt-on Rock Maple Neck with 25.5" scale, 21 jumbo frets, and dot inlays — plays fast and smooth
- Two Super Ferrite Humbuckers (toaster-style covers) with Peavey’s legendary variable coil-splitting circuit — roll the tone knobs to blend from full humbucker grind to sparkling single-coil spank
- Unique Electronics: Independent volume & tone for each pickup, out-of-phase switch, and treble-bleed for clarity at lower volumes — incredibly versatile for rock, blues, fusion, and more
- Original Peavey hard shell case (though it's original foam has since failed and someone did their best (?) to replace it.
The T-60 was revolutionary for its time (produced 1978–1988): one of the first guitars made with CNC machines, and its electronics were way ahead of the curve. This one delivers thick, articulate humbucker tones, chimey cleans, and everything in between — a true “Swiss Army knife” guitar that punches way above its weight. Minor signs of age consistent with a 40+ year-old instrument (light scratches, dings, and finish wear), but nothing structural. Perfect for collectors, players who love unique American-made guitars, or anyone hunting for a versatile workhorse with serious history.
