For sale is an exceptionally clean and original semi hollow body Kay “Speed Demon” model K 573 electric guitar. This guitar is an excellent example of Kay’s competition to Gibson and other semi hollow body electric guitars of the day. They feature laminated bodies that are proven to combat feedback and be much more roadworthy than the solid carved guitars. It features three of Kay’s iconic “Speed Bump” pickups with individual tone and volume for each one while having a pickup selector switch to use any combination of two pickups or just a single pickup making it a very versatile guitar for a variety of genres from vintage jazz, blues, soft rock, surf, to the grungiest of today’s rock. This guitar is all original and everything works beautifully. The original Kay logo pick guard is still attached and in good condition. Hardly any signs of use. Action is nice and low with plenty room on the adjustable bridge to adjust to your personal preference with a neck that is a nice full C shape and is straight as an arrow. Original brass frets with almost zero string marks. Plays very good throughout the neck. Comes with a good, non original hard case. The only noticeable blemish is an apparent cigarette burn on the face of the peghead (see picture) that wouldn’t be difficult to make disappear.
In summary, this is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of this model guitar you are likely to find. This is a lot of guitar for the money. $1290.00 + Shipping
