Marshall JCM 800 4212 50 watt lead combo. The more versatile split channel models of the JCM 800 line. Features two foot switchable channels, reverb, and an effects loop. Very useful for getting the best sound out of your pedals. This is a 1985 as designated by the T in the serial number. Features the super cool brown cloth. This is found on most 1985 and 1986 Marshall heads and cabinets due to a bad batch of black dye that faded to brown over time with UV exposure. You can't buy this cloth anywhere you have to have the originals. I love how these amps look. From what I have learned from the original owner this amp was not used much over the last 30 years. The speakers were replaced in the 1990s with G12T-75s. Same model as originals. UK made. The entire amp was just went over and as preventative maintenance the electrolytic filter capacitors were replaced with Sprague ATOMS and F&T brand. This ensures the amplifier is operating at its best and most reliable performance. F&T and Sprague have been making the finest capacitors for over 60 years. The tubes are well testing vintage GE 6550s which were likely factory installed in the amp. These are some of the best tubes produced in the 1980s. I really like how these sound in the 800 series amplifiers. The tube current and bias voltage has been checked properly. Preamp tubes are a mix of 12AX7s original to the amplifier. Most labeled INDIA and one RCA. These are likely original, again tested well and sound fantastic. For some time Philips and Mullard made tubes in India with the same tooling as in the UK. These sound like Mullard to me so they have been left alone. The circuitry is free of any other modifications. A full check was done for cold or questionable solders. Original Drake transformers and choke. This amp functions as it should with no issues. Reverb on both channels and all functions work well. A generic two button footswitch is included. Cosmetically this amp is also in really good shape. This is the best bang for your buck a serviced example of a JCM 800 outfitted with vintage glass. Don't take chances on beat up and abused equipment that will fail prematurely, this is a reliable, serviced amp. Generic Marshall style foot-switch included. Will pack like a tank and ship via UPS, fully insured via Reverb Safe Shipping. Discounted local cash pickup also available. Please ask any questions you may have prior to purchase.
